Is an Unwanted Tattoo Holding You Back?

Tattoos are designed to be permanent, but our tastes, lifestyles, and circumstances change. Whether it’s a piece of art that didn’t turn out as planned, a name you no longer wish to carry, or simply a design that no longer fits your professional image, living with unwanted ink can be frustrating.

Many people hesitate to seek removal because they fear scarring, lingering "ghost images," or the misconception that lasers only work on black ink. You might find yourself choosing clothes to cover it up or feeling self-conscious in social situations. You shouldn't have to hide your skin.

The Solution: Harmony XL Pro Q-Switched Technology

We have invested in the Harmony XL Pro, a gold-standard aesthetic platform that offers a superior solution for tattoo removal.

Unlike older methods that could damage the surrounding skin, our treatment uses a high-powered Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser. This advanced technology delivers ultra-short bursts of photo-acoustic energy into the dermis.

How the science works

Shattering the Ink: The laser targets the pigment in your tattoo, vibrating and shattering the ink particles into microscopic dust.

Protecting the Skin: Because the pulse is so fast (nanoseconds), it breaks up the ink without causing thermal damage to the surrounding healthy tissue.

Natural Elimination: Your body’s natural immune system (the lymphatic system) harmlessly flushes these tiny particles away over the following weeks, causing the tattoo to fade.

Why Choose Harmony XL Pro Tattoo Removal?

Treats Multi-Coloured Tattoos: Using a combination of laser wavelengths, we can target dark inks (black, blue) as well as harder-to-treat colours.

Minimal Risk of Scarring: The Q-Switched technology is designed to leave the epidermis (top layer of skin) intact, significantly reducing the risk of scarring or hypopigmentation (white spots).

Safe for All Skin Types: The Harmony XL Pro is globally recognised for its safety profile, making it suitable for lighter and darker skin tones alike.

Precision Treatment: We can target specific parts of a tattoo (for corrections) or the entire design.

Your Tattoo Removal Journey

  1. Consultation & Patch Test: Safety is our priority. We assess the age, colour, and depth of your tattoo and perform a patch test to ensure your skin reacts well to the laser.

  2. The Treatment: The applicator is moved over the tattoo, delivering quick pulses of light. You may feel a snapping sensation, similar to an elastic band against the skin. We use the Harmony's built-in cooling systems to manage comfort.

  3. The Healing Process: Immediately after, the area may look frosted (white) or red. This settles quickly. Over the next 4-8 weeks, your body will process the ink, and the tattoo will visibly fade.

  4. The Course: Tattoo removal is a journey. While you will see fading after one session, a course of treatments (typically 6–12) is required for complete removal, depending on ink density.

Results

Before: The client presented with a professional black ink tattoo on the forearm. The ink was dense and deeply saturated in the dermis, with sharp, distinct outlines. This type of tattoo typically requires a longer course of treatment due to the density of the pigment.

After: Following a course of 8 treatments with the Harmony XL Pro Q-Switched laser, the tattoo has been successfully cleared. The black pigment has been shattered and naturally eliminated by the body. The skin texture remains healthy and smooth, with no evidence of scarring or "ghosting" (white patches), demonstrating the laser's ability to target ink while protecting the

Frequently Asked Questions

Does laser tattoo removal hurt?

The sensation is often described as a "flicking" feeling or a rubber band snap. While not pain-free, it is generally bearable. The Harmony XL Pro is designed with patient comfort in mind, and the treatments are very fast. We can also apply a numbing cream prior to your session.

Can you remove all colours?

The Harmony XL Pro is excellent at removing dark pigments (black, dark blue, grey) and can treat a wide range of other colours. Some bright colours (like fluorescent greens or yellows) can be more stubborn, but we will assess this during your consultation.

Will I have a scar?

One of the biggest advantages of the Harmony XL Pro Q-Switched laser is its ability to target ink without burning the skin's surface. This minimises the risk of scarring. However, following our aftercare advice is crucial to ensure the skin heals perfectly.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies greatly depending on the age of the tattoo, the type of ink used, and your body's immune system. Amateur tattoos may go in 4 sessions; professional tattoos may take 8–12. We will give you a realistic estimate during your consultation.

How long must I wait between sessions?

We typically space appointments 6–8 weeks apart. This gives your body’s lymphatic system enough time to flush out the shattered ink particles before we target the next layer.
